I have been playing with the MPG database on the Cruisewirral Homepage to work out how many Miles per gallon i am getting in my vehicles. Just curious what everyone is getting ?? Copy & paste but obviously edit the car details and fuel consumption to suit your car. --------------------------------------- Vehicle : Range Rover Engine : 3.0 Turbo Diesel Year : 2003 Fuel Consumption : 18 MPG ---------------------------------------- Vehicle : Nissan Navara Engine : 2.5 Turbo Diesel Year : 2003 Fuel Consumption : 22 MPG ----------------------------------------- Vehicle : Renault Laguna Engine : 1.9 Turbo Diesel Year : 2003 Fuel Consumption : 50 MPG ------------------------------------------ If your not sure how to work it out then post how many miles you get to how much money and i will do the calculation for you. Example : 200 miles to £20 I will compile a chart of what cars get what MPG and see who's heavy footed

Honda Civic Coupe 1.6i SR SOHC VTEC.
Very sensible long distance driving = 52MPG
Town and short distances = 32MPG
Average MPG = 42
Shitroen AX Forte 1.1 spi
Very sensible long distance = 55MPG
Town and short distances = 35
Average MPG = 45
It is very suprising how echonomical my civic actually is, specially doing a constant 50MPH, the new 2006 civic boast similar results.

WTF.....
7.40 what ??
use the correct format please...
---------------------------------------
Vehicle : Engine : Year :
Fuel Consumption : ----------------------------------------
If you dont know the MPG then i need to know how many miles her gets to how much money, and finally if the amount refers to LPG or petrol.
e.g. :
100 miles for £10 petrol
or 150 miles for £8 LPG

Right, here are the figures for my 3 Clio's (thought I better post them before I get rid of two of them next month): Vehicle: Mk1 Phase2 Renault Clio RT Engine: 1.4i 8v Year: 1994 (M Reg) Fuel Consumption: Approx. 48mpg (although I have only done local driving in this car so far, have not done any motorway driving at all yet, so am hopeful this will improve even further!!). -------------------------------------------------- Vehicle: Mk1 Phase1 Renault Clio Fidji Engine: 1.4 Weber 8v Year: 1992 (J Reg) Fuel Consumption: Approx. 30mpg (although I tend to drive this car with my foot to the floor and it has no air filter on it so it burns fuel easily lol) -------------------------------------------------- Vehicle: Mk1 Phase1 Renault Clio RT Automatic Engine: 1.4i Year: 1991(J Reg) Fuel Consumption: Approx. 37mpg - its an automatic, explains it all!

can someone explain how you work it out? Fill your tank...see how many litres it takes...reset your trip on the speedo..drive until tank is empty and look at the trip mileage. So if my car does 350 miles on 60l of diesel...how do i get that to miles per gallon. 1 imperial uk gallon is 4.54609 litres. so divide the litres used by 4.54609 and you will get tank capacity in gallons 60/4.54609 = 13.19 gallons. Therefore to get miles per gallon take mileage and divide by gallons. ie 350 miles/ 13.19 gallons = 26.5 mile per gallon..which is about what my old audi used to do...as I drove it pretty hard. Clear as mud...im sure theres a flaw in my maths somewhere..the brain is rusty!

Vehicle : BMW 840Ci Sport with Dinan Management Chip Engine : 4.4 V8 Year : 1999 Fuel Consumption : Average of 17. Its a weekend car.
Vehicle : BMW Z4 2.5 Engine : 2.5 Straight 6 Year : 2005 Fuel Consumption: Average of 27. Again used mostly around town. A good figure IMO.
Vehicle : BMW 535d M Sport Engine : 3 litre twin-turbo Year : 2008 Fuel Consumption : 31mpg - great performance as well.
Vehicle : BMW 650i Sport Engine : 4.8 V8 Year : 2008 Fuel Consumption : 21mpg (seems rubbish to me)
Vehicle: BMW 123d M Sport Engine: 2.0 diesel Year: 2007 Fuel Consumption : 42mpg (only used for motorway hacking)
These are all the cars on my drive, taken from the average reading on the OBC, not using calculator on main page.

Ive been using the Z4 for the commute to Manchester and I drove there at 55 mph yesterday... reset the trip computer prior and it was showing 45mpg when I got there!!
Usually, now that I'm commuting, I'm seeing the OBC showing 33mpg (ish) over a tank.

In my VW Golf 2.0T GTI I get 30mpg at the most on my short 10 minute journey to work. Ive only had it a couple of weeks and have not yet checked what it does on a good run up the motorway.

I have had my car a few months now so I know a bit more. Short 10 minute journeys are still around 30mpg. I drove from Yorkshire today and it ended up 41.3 mpg. The maximum I got was driving like a nun up to New Brighton one night and got it up to 43mpg. 2.0T running on Shell Vpower.

I can't seem to get less than 100 miles on 10 quid in my Porsche. I don't drive fast (because it doesn't ) but it's the cheapest car I've driven so far.

The peugeot is horrendous on fuel. 30mpg on a motorway run, 25ish running about and about 3 when im giving it death, so i average about 5mpg.
The Nissan does about 30-40 on a motorway depending if i can keep off boost and what sort of speeds im doing. Running about its about 25-30 and after death down to about 14. Again, i average about 17mpg.
I HATE cars.

The other day I got about 164 miles out of £11 or so of fuel in the 420 which I was well impressed with - thats about 68mpg. Twas mainly motorway driving at 60ish, but some town and A-road driving as well. Overall, id say the norm in it is about 50mpg or so. Im a nice driver. I then ran through about £10 in 80 miles or so, but I was "really" hurting the car tbh lol. Thats about 36mpg still though. Getting about 42mpg in the 75 atm, but at least half of that has been motorway mileage at 60ish, so expecting it to drop in normal driving, supposed to be around 25mpg around town lol. Gonna miss the derv economy, thats for sure! And derv is cheaper than petrol in most places now! Haha Rhys, 19mpg and you do mainly motorway driving, I bet that's one reason to miss the TF then! God knows what your getting around town at busy times looooool!!

I used to get that in my Astra GSi, constant motorway miles, always driven gently, I always got something stupid like 60mpg! The MR2 I bought off Ste was ridiculous on mpg, hardly ever filled it. The Starion was the other end, 17mpg average, never got more than 40 miles out of £10!

On a good day I get 34mpg from my Passat. Best ever was driving at a steady 50mph on the A55 in Wales, managed 40mpg, never managed it since. Was given a VW Polo "bluewave" diesel as a courtesy car this summer and the same runs that I normally get 34 mpg from in my own car I managed 90mpg. I was seriously impressed.

Not 100% certain, but I think im getting about 27 - 28mpg atm, which is the best normal usage consumption ive had out of the car if its correct. About 180 miles out of £32 or so, but the fuel being 107.9/109.9 per litre means it's not as bad as it sounds, when you work it out.
Most of my driving is around town and a lot of stop start and short journies, I did get about 35mpg when I went to my dads a few months ago, but thats along the A41 and A49 so a good 45 - 65mph for the majority of the way.

Just worked out, thrown £85 into the 620 this month, done 710 miles, so about 52mpg! Not bad considering most of that has been local/A-road driving and the weight of the car.
After a trip to Alton a few months back, I get about 70mpg on the motoway or thereabouts.

In my Passat 2.0tdi (170ps version) on my daily motorway run to Warrington I am getting 50mpg when pressing on, 56mpg ish being sensible and 64mpg when hyper mileing it in lane 1 all the way. Not bad for something that on paper is supposed to do 47mpg combined.

Eh? Oh dear Sanchez i'm begining to doubt your a petrol head at all now hehehe Make Model MPG BMW 3 Series E46 328 Ci Coupé 2002 31.0 Link here bud, http://www.car-emissions.com/cars/model/Bmw/page:1/sort:make/direction:asc Lol would be if was stock mate but as mentioned in past probably something to do with the Double Vanos and timing being done as part of the remap i had done a while ago its over 220bhp rather than standard 193 also on stiffer suspension (Shnizers) its also tiptronic so wastes alot of fuel in auto idle but you knew that didn't you lid hehe

Mitsubishi Pajero - 17mpg, but it does carry a lot of weight (me) and I run it on cooking oil so don't care.
Subaru SVX - 18mpg, but it's on LPG so effectively half price.
Chrysler Grand Voyager - 21mpg, again LPG
I look at some of these 50 and 60mpg and think how far things have come in the last few years. I don't want one, I just think that since people have pushed more and more for better economy the manufacturers are finally putting some work into it rather than just making them go faster.

Who gives out clapped out courtesy cars?... lol To be fair it drives quite smoothly. They have a few newer small cars but i think they save them for the mrs miggins types that would soil themselves if they had to drive anything bigger than a micra.

Ive currently got a Vauxhall Insignificant 2.0 CDTi AUTO
Drove to Guildford yesterday, cruise at 70-80, all motorway with no real traffic problems. Averaged 42mpg which is pretty piss poor TBH.

Presume that'll be the auto box? You'd expect some decent economy as the trade off for having to drive that POS.
I bet your 530 does better than that? Is that an Auto?

Yes, the 530 gets 50+ at that sort of speed, the BMW is manual though

Glad to hear it! Manual in one of these is extremely rare!

Are there any known issues with it not being able to cope with the torque? That's the reason our 35d had to be an auto - wasn't available in manual!
