drove it into work yesterday, on works trade plates so everything was sort of legit! the tracking was way out as it was weaving all over the road. left it there over night. went to it this morning and sorted the tracking. then wisked it to the bodyshop mid morning. shall pop in mid week and check on the progress but hopefully its only going to be there for a week or so, mind it doesn't matter how long they take as long as its done right! here some pics of it in work

all the fruits o thy labour hey, yep when its ready i'll bring it down. don't worry that exhaust isn't stating, does suit the car, but it was all i had!

it was pretty good driving it, bit sketchy on the way to work, as the tracking was way oot. had a few people point and some girls on the side of the road said oh my god, must be amazed at how i fit in a mini! (am 6ft 3)

all the lads at work know about it, and have been taking the piss as they do! they did appreciate the work that i've done though.

That repair work is amazing.

What bodyshop did you take it to?

I can't wait to see it either!

What parts you gotta strip off the engine?

its the one i took it to to have it sprayed up originally (behind the carphone warehouse). the downpipe to the turbo is leaking, also i've got a leak somewhere in the boost system so i'll need to find that. have got to try and hook up my gauges (oil pressure and oil temperature). i have a leak on the gearbox which i need to find.

took the carb off the engine today, with it off it allows me more room to get at the turbo to sort the leak on the downpipe. radiator taken off, fan spruced up. i did originally think of getting a 6 blade jobbie, but i reckon the 11 blade with a 2core radiator should do! i've finnaly sorted the wiring for the wing indicators, and cleaned up the front wiring. also have glued a make shift roof lining (£10 of fabric from abikan (spelling)) and trimmed it. and have fitted my one bucket seat! its been sat in my room for a while so i've been testing it for comfort, and i can quite happily sit in it for a few hours! all i need now apart from harnesses are a pair of seat extenders, so i can drive comfortably.

this weeks progress. i polished it. not much else i can do with drying up funds! finally got the 3 extra gauges i shall be hooking up to the engine. boost oil temp and oil pressure. they are all electro lumenesent to match my EL clocks.

[Linked Image]

i managed to get a adapter to fit the oil pressure sender into the turbo's oil feed, and have got a sandwich plate on the way so i can throw my temp sender in there.
