Hi Currently marveling at the athleticism and endurance of the Tour De France riders as they hit the mountain roads of Corsica. It reminded me of an event, which through the fog of time I vaguely recall visiting Birkenhead, does anyone else recall the 'Milk Race'? Am I right in remembering that this did pass through or nearby the town? Any details, images would be most welcome.

You might be confused with the criterium that eddy merckx attended, Andy Wilkinson rode the milk race along with malcome Elliot Steve jouekin, and at least one of the bell family, all from the area. The Kelloggs tour came through, Steven Roche, Mario cippolini fondriest and Brian smith. National champion at the time,

1975 - also included a Llandudno - New Brighton stage - which I watched at Thingwall corner - as it ran down Barnston Road onto Arrowe Park Road... ;-)
