I've found it's rare they give discount for cash, they make more by selling you finance.

Yes I agree with stegga, no discount for cash as they get commission from the finance company's , you would be better off buying private where your cash has a lot of bargaining power. | | |

sell the corsa privately, you won't get much for it anyway and get the best price you can on the new car by buying it on finance, then get a price to clear the finance after a couple of days, you might get a month or two's interest if you're unlucky.
you get the advantage that if you have any issues with the car/dealer the finance company are still liable as well.

If you have a P/X most places wont budge on the advertised price.
You will get a little leeway in that you can haggle on the p/x value, and play with the "price to upgrade"

A cash buyer however, will have more power to haggle.

Exactly that, the screen price is already loaded with £5 -£700 part exchange allowance. If you got £2k off last time then I dont think you need advice on discounts.
If you have cash then buy private, buy with FSH and ensure that all consumables (tyres, brakes, battery, exhaust, wiper blades are in good nick as to fix the lot is around £2k and are rarely covered under warranty.

Cars over 7 years are difficult to finance from the dealer side so you could get a better deal with cash if you are looking for something pre 2005.

If I had cash I would go the auction in Manchester, Haydock or Leeds and bag an ex lease bargain.

Finally make sure if you get finance and want to pull out early, I would check that there is no early repayment charge or similair administration levy that will wipe out any saving or discount you made by taking this route.

 Happy Hunting
