was getting my grandad to give a lift to the pub earlier to pick my car up, and on the way we stopped at the petrol station as you would do if your car needed filling up, but his didnt. he told me that he always has a full tank in the car no matter what. now i'm completley different, i never have a full tank unless its needed, jus stops me from driving round more basically.
how do u guys fill your cars up?
keep topping up and always full?
or
£5 when u need it to get you to where you need to go?

let mine and chiccy's go down to a qtr at lowest then fill them up to top.. full tank lasts about a month or longer in each car. if you let it go too low, you risk pulling the crap in the tank thru the engine..

I keep it as low as needed?
If your car is nicked it on a Full Tank kiss it good bye. At least with a little fuel they wont get as far before having to stop for juice.
I put in what i need for a few days.

I like to keep 1/4 of a tank, but not always possible at the price of derv nowadays. I never like it going into the reserve, although I do on occasion run on the reserve, knowing I have a good 60 or so miles on it. I put £15.00 Biodiesel in the other day, took it from just above the reserve to nearly half full, was made up. I find like yourself Pete, the more fuel I see on my gauge, the more driving I do and therefore the quicker I use it. if you let it go too low, you risk pulling the crap in the tank thru the engine.. That theory isnt true matey... what do you think you're fuel filter is for?? Not to mention the fact on most fuel tanks, the pipe is understandably at the bottom of the fuel tank, so any "crap" will go through the system whether its high or low anyway.

i never let the fuel light come on

varies really mainly put a tenna in or right to the top (40 quid)
The pulling crap from the bottom of the tank does not bother me as we have an 04 plate car and it has a plastic petrol tank.

Never let it drop below 1/4 if possible and fill it right up. That way I can keep a proper log of miles/ litres to look for any changes that can indicate potential engine problems. I always make sure it is full before a journey of any length - and have even been known to take an additional 20 litre can if I am venturing around mid Wales. Freelanders drink petrol!

i randomly fill. half way, top it up, empty, put some in. brim it, or i do on the lazy occasion (all the time!) just fill one side. its equals out 10mins later when i'm down the road. its great being able to go both sides of the pump! don't have to wait for retards to brim their shitters.
always looking for those bigger bunches of bananas!

I tend to leave it til near the red light and fill it full if I can, but sometimes I just put as much as I can afford in.
I always let it go down to nearly empty before refilling.
