Tax, insurance and MOT are gunna cost £300 alone, and thats if it passes the MOT first time.

I know its gunna fail on a split CV joint boot, but I can't be arsed fixing it lol

doing a good job on this car joe, come a long way.

Are those headlights legal? cos ive heard aftermarket HID kits are illegal due to the beam pattern being crap. or do projector lenses solve that problem?

Judging by those pictures, the headlights are on the wrong side? On my E46, the headlights are on the outside, is this not the case on the E36?

Also, it would make more sense to have the main headlights using the projector lens? Unless both are projectors?

If, and you probably havent, you have put the bulb in the wrong side then you are effectively driving around with main beam on all the time.

With regards to legality, it is a legal requirement that cars fitted with HID's as standard from factory need self leveling systems and headlight washer systems.

However, whilst strictly speaking, HID kits are illegal for other reasons, its not because you dont have self leveling motors or headlight washers and they will pass their MOT. It would take some pretty anal police to pull you over for them and this is more likely to happen if you are driving round without the projector style lenses.

Ive got an HID kit on my newish BMW through standard projector lenses and it looks standard, so no worries there.
