Remove the fuel feed, and direct it in to a drum, put 12V to the pump - let that do all the hard work for you wink

3 times round the block, couple of very loud backfires, but still the barstard wont start. frown

Least the van didnt break though lol

Thanks to all who had the confidence in me to vote yes doh

No idea why it wont start though think

I didn't syphon it cas it wouldnt and it was too late to try stuys tip lol. So I just topped it up

Gunna try putting the old parts of ignition system back and try a different coil too.

Could be overfueling, so I'll e-mail the company I bought the head off to see if the performance cams might cause it.

If that doesn't do it, Chris said start again and he'll go through it with me this time making sure everything is spot on.

sorry you didnt get it started

my moneys on ignition, it'd have to be overfueling really really bad not to start.... ???.... it should run but it'd be really rough

(on another side note... with you having performance cams, did they give you instructions about when you do fire it up to rag the balls off it for 15 mins, going up and down the rev range, i had to with my performance kent cam, to bed them in?)

I'm inclined to stay with Timing (Ignition).
IMO for it to pop and bang it has to be timing mate.

I know we checked lead 1 for a spark Joe but were the
others checked for life?

As daft as it seems it could only be the one sparking?
Or at most 2? And that could cause the same results?

No information came with the performance cams, they just came fitted in the head.

All 4 plugs are sparking fine.

I should get a reply off the cam manufacturer soon hopefully.

If its fueling and sparking, it must be timing related or ingition related if its not a mechanical problem.

The fact that its back-firing says the fuel is getting there, and being ignited, just not at the right time....

Could also be a problem with the Cam - could be the wrong one, or the overlap duration could be wrong...

Have you done a compression test?
