Im looking for a reliable cheap gardener to level and returf my back garden and also remove some ive from off the fence. Ive just had a guy out, and he quoted me £450! garden is around 17ft wide, and roughly 20ft long!

its not all grass though, as we are planning on putting a small decking area down ourselves

It sounds like a lot of money but likewise I think the pricing is about right. Stripping and levelling is a big job and you need about 40 rolls of turf.

Maybe be better hiring a skip and level the ground yourselves.
Instead of re turfing buy some grass seed and plant it,As for the garden fence .....instead of getting a new one repair the old one and paint it up it will look good as new.
You both will save alot of money.

As for the garden fence .....instead of getting a new one repair the old one and paint it up it will look good as new.
As I read it, she doesn't want a new fence, she wants some ivy (ive) removing.
