The Golden Fleece and The Crooked Billet next door now demolished for housing and advertising hoardings, only The Old House At Home left across the road now and The Hotel California, now Revolver on the roundabout bottom of Green Lane left.

There's a real danger that the left will drag Britain back to the 1970s, with secure well-paid jobs, ample housing, properly-funded NHS and social care, free tuition, student grants, final salary pensions, affordable rail fares and fabulous films and music. David Osland 2025

What was the pub called just further along, it got named The Yard. We had this conversation in pub and no one could recall the original name. Thanks

That pic looks so different to now ,made me smile to see the dog crossing the road on its own. Something we don't see now very often (which is a good thing) dogs were everywhere and no-one took any notice. They seemed to be a lot better behaved then though....

The Golden Fleece aka Josie Ryans was also Dunnars at some point.
