I got one, why do the old vw's cut out all the time, specially in the cold weather?
It is as though the petrol isn't making it to where it is needed.

have you tried servicing the vw with a new filter? also through some nitrox hotshot in the tank as that cleans the whole fuel system and carb to i use to have the same trouble with my other vw till i did that and also its worth getting the carb serviced to that can be done for around £40 hope this helps
