UK ISPs asked to block 21 file sharing sites including Torrentz.eu, BitSnoop and ExtraTorrentThe sites, including the likes of Torrentz.eu, BitSnoop and ExtraTorrent are to be blocked on October 30. BT and Virgin Media have confirmed that the block will be implemented in the next two days. A BT spokesperson said: “BT will only block access to websites engaged in online copyright infringement when ordered by a court to do so. BT has been ordered to block access to these websites, and will do so within the timeframe set out in the court order.” Gareth Mead, a Virgin Media spokesperson added: “We’ve received court orders requiring us to block a further 21 file-sharing sites found to be infringing on copyright. As a responsible ISP we obey court orders addressed to the company.” Sky typically does not comment on which sites it blocks but states that it always complies with court orders as and when they’re received. Sky refreshes a list of sites that it’s been asked to block on its ‘Our approach to protecting copyright’ page. So far, Torrentz.eu and the others have not yet appeared. TalkTalk has yet to respond to a request for comment. A report from TorrentFreak first revealed that Torrentz.eu, BitSnoop and ExtraTorrent would be blocked in the UK at the end of the month. Recombu Digital has obtained the full list of sites that are to be blocked: 1337x Abmp3 BeeMP3 BitSnoop Bomb-Mp3 eMp3World ExtraTorrent FileCrop FilesTube Monova Mp3Juices Mp3lemon Mp3Raid Mp3skull NewAlbumReleases Rapidlibrary TorrentCrazy TorrentDownloads TorrentHound Torrentreactor Torrentz This latest wave of site blocking measures is the biggest yet. Previously, rights holders had sought court orders for sites like The Pirate Bay, KickassTorrents, Movie2k and EZTV. The length of time it took for court orders to materialise meant that there was time for those involved in file sharing to set up mirrors and proxies. Obtaining orders to block several sites all at once makes it easier for rights holders to bring the fight to the pirates. Link What a pi**take!

It won't make a minutes worth of difference.
Just spoof your IP and then go in as normal, or use a proxy.
They're trying to block sites, the Internet was set up with the intention that if one route became impassable it would use another, so I wish them good luck, and I'll just carry on using PirateBay on Virgin.
Next week: Court orders all gaming sites to be blocked after 10pm so we get a good nights sleep.

Better than nothing come to think of it.

If you want to bypass any web filter or proxy server blocking any site, you can use Opera with Tor to safely and anonymously view or download whatever you want, because it uses the Opera (Internet Suite), so its really, really fast and the Tor network leaves no trace or history. Plus This Opera Tor Bundle can be run off any disk: USB, network drive or hard drive. Opera Tor - Opera + Tor + Privoxy http://letwist.net/operator It's basicially a pre-configured bundle and optmized with the Opera Browser, The Onion Router and Privoxy. Just Run: Tor, Privoxy and Opera or click on "Start" in the bundle folder and freely surf away. You can use these sites to confirm that your orginal IP and location were hidden. 1. http://www.ipaddresslocation.org/ 2. http://www.iptoplace.com/ 3. http://www.maxmind.com/app/locate_my_ip Opera Features http://www.opera.com/products/desktop/ 1. Very Fast. 2. Tabbed browing. 3. Mouse Gestures. 4. The Most secure. 5. Lightweight RAM usage despite heavy feature set. 6. Content Blocker (Ad block). 7. Download Manager. 8. Extremely stable. 9. Basic BitTorrent support. 10. Thousands of Skins/Themes 11. Excellent community support.

These guys are trying to perpetuate an old business model that has not moved with the times. If they were in the motor industry we would still be in horses and carts

was on BT, also torrentz which was the main one i used for music and software. I used to use Torrentazos for music as it was a music only site but thats fully of alsorts now and is rubbish with loads of popups so i don't bother with that one anymore. Another good one was Demoniod but i sold that account years ago.

In a state of war the first things to be taken from us would be the internet and mobile phone signals. Sadly though some may say gladly, the days of the 'free internet' are long over with GCHQ compiling profiles on each and every one of us. What you access and what you say online is all stored away and has been for years. The internet and mobile phones have been the best thing ever to happen to the police and security services.

Yeah, the court orders are coming think and fast. Next step will be court orders for your IP address. Once all this is in place, then the price of CD's and DVD's will rocket again.
All this talk of changing IP addresses, by passing blocking makes me nervous about children's safety on the internet.
Bring back the 80's slogan. "HOME TAPING IS KILLER MUSIC" There will always be pirates in some form. I think 'stealing' is a bit strong. Afterall, sony, sold me a cd recorder, blank cd's......They sold me the tools......as do other vendors.
