Samsung r700 laptop, when turned on screen stays blank, one long beep followed by two short beeps. Ime not very computer savvy so any help or advice, in simple terms lol, would be most appreciated. Thanks, Rob....

Disconnect any peripherals and take off the battery, plug in the mains and turn on, see what happens then.

It depends on the BIOS (AMI, Award, Phoenix, etc) but one long, two short beeps usually indicates video card failure.

Happened to me i was told to press Ctl+ F8 WHEN STARTING UP AND PERSEVERE TILL IT BOOTS

If you can connect it to a desktop pc monitor and switch the laptop on and see if it opens windows up where you can see it on the monitor

Thanks for all your replies.Reseated ram but problem still there. Been informed the NVIDIA graphics chip needs repairing / reballing. A common fault on my Samsung R700. Been quoted £80 - £110 for reballing. Oh well will have to live on beans for the next month lol.......
