Obituary: Broadcaster Alan Whicker has died at the age of 87 Broadcaster Alan Whicker has died at the age of 87. In a career which stretched nearly 60 years, he was best known for his travel journalism and the TV programme Whicker's World. He died at his home in Jersey after suffering from bronchial pneumonia. It would appear that he had a pretty good life.
Great programmes. Always the gentleman, with a sense of humour and very interesting.
Nobody, to date, has quite matched him.
