The Big Brother 2013 start date has been pushed back, but is now expected to launch the second week of June.


It’s one of the latest launch dates for the series, which had used to start in May, before being moved to June on Channel 5.

But this year the premiere is set for Thursday, June 13, avoiding the finals of Britain’s Got Talent which will conclude on June 8.

And this year, it’s all change when as Big Brother returns with a brand new theme for this series: ‘Big Brother: Secrets & Lies’.

Expect Big Brother to be harder and harsher as the housemates are subjected to countless twists, turns and tough tasks. Suspicion will be rife as the housemates attempt to untangle Big Brother’s web of secrets and lies. How will they separate the fact from the fiction and do they have secrets of their own?

In the ‘Big Brother: Secrets & Lies’ house, it’s all about self-sufficiency and recycling. As the housemates enter through the front doors, they will be greeted by a huge feature wall containing recycled life-size front doors. But what do they signify and what lies behind them?

The sweeping staircase will take them down into an eco-style living space. Although impressive in appearance, this house is not a hotel and provides a tougher environment than ever before.”

The redesigned Big Brother house will features 27 remote controlled cameras, 12 fixed cameras, five manned cameras and 10 infra-red cameras, as well as a ‘tower cam’ that will provide ‘sweeping views’ of the garden.

The new promo for the series is set to air soon, with Marcus Bentley teasing on Twitter: “Just recorded the Big Brother promo – it’s amazing – Emma looks the biz and I can’t say anything but #whatsthesecret OMG !!!!”

Big Brother will launch its new series with a double 90-minute premiere on Thursday, June 13 and Friday, June 14, it has been confirmed.

Emma Willis takes over from Brian Dowling as host of the Channel 5 reality show, which is returning for its 14th cycle.

The first launch episode will start on Thursday at 9pm and the second part will air on Friday at 9pm.

Spinoff show Bit on the Side, hosted by Willis and new co-hosts Rylan Clark and AJ Odudu, will air at 10.30pm on both evenings.

Friday, June 14 will see the return of the show's popular live feed in a new daily slot at 7pm on 5*

Birdwatcher Bill Oddie has revealed he’s been approached to take part in Celebrity Big Brother 2013.


The BBC telly presenter told is twitter followers at the weekend that Channel 5 bosses were offering “lots of money” to get him in the house

And Bill asked his fans and followers to decide whether or not he should become a housemates this summer.

He tweeted yesterday: “My agent just called-”Is Bill available to do Celebrity Big Brother?”"

Bill added: “Well, folks what do you think? (It’s a lot of money!)”

Big Brother is BACK, “but not as you know it”! With just 6 days to go until the first of two launches, Channel 5 has updated its official app with the first piece of Big Brother news!

As a Big Brother nerd, it really did get me excited. The most exciting piece of news is that the broadcaster has confirmed this year’s house is indeed “green” and will be all about “self-sufficiency and recycling”.



Rumour mill has gone into over-drive the last few weeks since it was rumoured that the house will be like we have never seen it before.
The app reads: “This house is all about self-sufficiency and recycling. This topical spin may mean that leaving housemates will have a new appreciation of the plight of the planet… or maybe a desire to plunge back into their creature comforts”.



As we already know, this year’s series has been subtitled “Secrets & Lies” and Channel 5 has already been playing tricks on us by releasing a secret eye and then going on to release the full thing.

“The new secrets & Lies’ angle will lead to twists, turns and tough tasks. No one in the House or watching at home should take things at face value” we’re told.

Not only that, as die-hard fans we already know that Brian has gone, but the app puts a better spin on it, “Dowling is dust”. Indeed, if you don’t know, have you been under a rock? The wonderfully amazing Emma Willis is taking over the main presenting duties on Channel 5 this year, as Rylan Clark and AJ Odudu take the honours on Bit on the Side.



Fear not Emma fans, aside from presenting the main show, she will also present Bit on the Side three days a week. This year, we also have the addition of two new shows. On a Sunday, Rylan will front a new Sunday lunchtime show, and there will be Bit on the Psyche – which will “feature the cream of the psychological community mediating on what’s going on beneath the House surface”.
