Went there as a school kid in 1970s . There is/was also an old swimming pool in woods not far from there. something to do with scouts--may have goen when they put M53 spur in

I think I have pictures of the swimming pool at the back of the scout hut in a moreton history book. I'll see if I can dig them out.
The concrete boiler hut and boiler that serviced the swimming pool survived into the 1990's. It was just before the spur of the motorway, about where the phone mast is now.

I'd be interested to see the picture as a friend of mine was one of the scouts who helped dig it out.
There also used to be a football pitch there

Wow, I remember the swimmimg pool, I camped out here with the Scouts in the 1960's. It was in what used to be the wooded area, behind the new building which is now a childrens nursery, it was on the Moreton side of the M53 spur. Great photos.

Sorry to mess you all about,but can we re-arrange this for 24th March as I've been in touch with uptoncx who has kindly offered to be our guide and has a good knowledge of the site and area.
