Just bought a new car. Thought I would share to see if anyone has any views or anything.

Got a merc e250 sport (2013) with all the extras. 201 hp twin turbo 2.2 litre.

Anyone got one? What are they like as a day in day out motor?

Think you would probably be best addressing that question to Top Gear's readers letters page. You are probably well aware of that too.

You'd expect more than 200bhp from a twin turbo 2.2 would you not?

Slow, unrefined, not enough cylinders... Probably not what you wanted to hear. I hope it's a company car and you didn't spend your own money on it?

I'm sure others will be impressed though.

I thought that, but I think the diesel is the only twin turbo engine for that model.

Nice cars, used to have an old E class, the interior was dreadful, but it was a nice drive.

Better than the Mazda 6?

Thanks guys yeah it's a diesel. Blue efficiency with stop start tech. Gets about 50 mpg but its no slouch as it can get to 60 in 7.5. Not bad for a big car. It's a personal lease guys so its not expensive. Same kind of money as a titanium focus to be honest or a Astra.

Good shout on the 520d, the difference in monthly payments is the reason, about 150 reasons every month lol!! To be blunt also I have never been a huge BMW fan, except m3! Ha

Haven't a clue about the technicalities but it is such a very pretty car. Enjoy.

The Merc diesel is far more reliable than the BMW diesel

I work at BMW specialist. E60 5 Series comes in all the time, turbo problems, dpf problems, injector problems, parking sensor problems, airbag problems, headlight problems. The diesel is worse than the petrol.
