Have a look here LINK TO Google search seems to be affecting quite a few PC's, get yourself Chrome or Firefox, a lot less troublesome

Some people are forced to use IE (e.g. at work, college). Others are perfectly happy with it. And some of those actually prefer it over the likes of Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari etc.
As you're using Win7, have you tried IE9? It's MS most standards complient browser.
If you have tried 9 and don't like it, try uninstalling the IE8 update then reinstall it. I'm not at a W7 machine, but the instructions are availble via your preferred search engine.

Having just downloaded the computer clean up tool from the first one under the above link, bloody hell, it's flying away with me now.. can't keep up! Thanks PiratePete, brilliant, where have you been all these years?
