From a historical viewpoint (after being impressed with recent threads showing Gene Vicent and Paul Simon playing at local venues) I'd be interested to know the first concerts people attended. I'm guessing there will be quite a range.
For me it was Supertramp (my sister was a fan and I went with her) at the Empire circa 1975/76

Anybody remember Derry Wilkie and the Pressman. A Liverpool group who played at the Krall in NB frequently. Mid 60's. I really enjoyed them.

Sorry I'm not hijacking your thread, just thought some may find this interesting FOUNDED BY THE ORIGINAL MERSEYBEAT GROUPS OF THE SIXTIES About Please visit our Website @ www.merseycats.comMission To raise funds for sick and underpriviledged children by meeting and playing together as musicians. Personal information We are a fundraising organisation founded by the original Merseybeat bands of the Sixties. Also known as 'The Rock 'n' Roll Children's Children's Charity', we raise money for sick and under-privileged children in the Merseyside area. How do we do it? Every Thursday evening we hold a Jam Night at the Aintree Conservative Club. On various occasions throughout the year we put on shows featuring bands and music from the 'Sixties'. Personal interests We are always interested in new visitors to our events and would like to make the aquaintence of like-minded bands & musicians (No matter what age) who would like to try their hand. We have a full PA, back line and drum kit so all you need to bring is yourself and your instrument if you need one.

First famous singer I saw was Jimmy Ruffin at the Pleasuredrome around 1984/5 when it first opened. I was working there at the time so not sure if that counts. My first actual paid for concert was Billy Joel in 1994 at the NEC. Brilliant night, saw my idol, didn't think it could be bettered until I went to the MEN to see him again in 2006. Was in the 2nd row, took the kids. Unbelievable night.

Shakin Stevens at the Empire around 1984/5, I saw him there a few times, then it was Michael Jackson at Aintree in 88, Chesney Hawkes 1991 and Guns N Roses in 1992...plenty more since then but I think the best I have ever seen was the first time I saw the Australian Pink Floyd at the "original"Summer Pops (the big yellow tent) :0)

Slade at Liverpool Mountford Hall 1974 - managed to grab one of Don Powell's drum sticks that he put on the stage to tease the audience (just out of reach)! Still got it somewhere.
Sitting on a cornflake, waiting for the van to come.

First concert - The Beatles 1963. http://www.old-liverpool.co.uk/Beatles.htmlMany people who passed through the Krall, either performing or just called in to spot the talent (!), amazing how much fun you could have drinking frothy coffee, fanta or coke, and eating bacon or cheese toasties.
