I used to live in Cole Street and always walked my dog in the Park.Just inside the gates at the top of Park Road East were two buildings. I was told that they were canteens for Cole Street School-or is my memory playing tricks on me?

Cole Street school did indeed have a canteen in the park.

I wonder if you could smell the golden flapjacks being baked? Miss my school puddings, nothing quite tastes the same. Treacle rolly poly with pink custard mmmm, aw I'm hungry now
