I currently have a Broadband connection with TalkTalk my speeds are 2.5 MB Download & 0.5 MB Upload.
I live about 1.85 miles from Chester Central Exchange.

I received an E-Mail from TalkTalk this week offering me Fibre Optic Broad band with a Download Speed of 27.5 MB & Upload 10.5 MB.
To receive Fibre Optic Broad band I have to have a New Router fitted.

Just wondering has anyone taken up TalkTalk’s Fibre Optic Broadband offer, or Fibre Optic Broadband from any other supplier.
if yes have you any thoughts or advice

personally i wouldnt touch anything else but virgin media .i have 100mb,and use newsgroups,and i get 11800kbs on every download.thats a full dvd in 4 mins.it depends on how much you want to spend

Can't go wrong for speeds like that at a tenner a month.

Make sure you're seeding though, would suck for 10mb upload to go to waste

I've taken the plunge & ordered it it's being installed next Wednesday 28th.

It has to be installed by an engineer.

So I'll know how good it is next Wednesday night !!!

There's no cable in Chester. Only BT's network.

I wouldn't waste your time if you're just browsing websites. You'd hardly notice the speed difference anyway.

We have a gig fibre connection in work I can't tell the difference between that and my home cable modem which operates around 10 meg. Torrents don't typically come down any faster either.
