Its unfair that Wirral council should sell land that bowling and tennis are played on. The kids loved the tennis - now where do they go - all the way to Hoylake? Why, in this day and age, the government says we need to become more active and yet take away free access to these facilities? Ironic! Do you think they will sell the land and build tennis courts somewhere for the residents to use?

Infact, the comapany only has 2 franchaises(?) ond one of the links does not work. So, no track record - but their website looks fabulous. The one in Manchester is http://www.playgolfmanchester.com/index.php

Its not free now is it???

There's a real danger that the left will drag Britain back to the 1970s, with secure well-paid jobs, ample housing, properly-funded NHS and social care, free tuition, student grants, final salary pensions, affordable rail fares and fabulous films and music. David Osland 2025

it amazes me that people in this country seem to feel that the government and councils should provide everything for free! Free baby food, free childcare, free swimming, free tennis courts, free money (benefits).

What exactly is wrong with local councils not providing tennis courts for free? what is wrong with them selling them off, or charging people to use them? Why is it that people who play tennis should get a better deal for their taxes than someone who doesnt?

Why can't people just start paying for things themselves, taking a bit of responsibility for themselves for a change, instead of expecting mrs state to pay for it all.

Go out, get a job, earn money and, build up a good amount of saving so your comfortable in life, and buy nice things, thats the way I see it. If I want to pay tennis or drive my car, I expect to pay to do so, and quite happy to do it, I don't expect the state to pay for it, and I can't see why others have a problem with it.

In this time of cuts, lets just do away with all the community care services for the diabled and the like, so that peeps who want to play tennis for free, can continue to do so.

I'd like a Ferrari, should petition the council to buy me one, only want a Testarossa, only bout 30k nowadays, my fave car as a child, they should give us all a free car of our choosing!

I'd take a guess at saying the ones in Harrison park are, they are open for anyone to just walk onto and I never see anyone there collecting a fee.

Soz, I was referring to the ones in the topic, not the other ones that have been mentioned. I've no idea what the site is called doh

Harrison Park tennis courts are free to use & since Wimbledon have been quite busy. On Friday all the courts were in use by a local school.

I never said it was in New Brighton, just that it was situated off New Brighton Prom, which is a lot closer than Hoylake, was just trying to help.

Matt - what is a 'peep' and Bezzymate - you also? People do pay community charge, childcare, taxes, parking fees, and more and DO WORK!! What is your problem regarding some free leisure facilities?
Do you want the Council to sell all its assets so you can pay over the odds for facilities? Well, not everyone is as selfish as yourselves - I wonder what you think the community charge covers? At least kids can use free tennis courts if they do not want the free swimming. What is wrong with this?
Matt - 'In this time of cuts, lets just do away with all the community care services for the diabled and the like, so that peeps who want to play tennis for free, can continue to do so.'
Utter rubbish. You should be ashamed of yourself, not a very mature attitude. Bezzymate you support this?
