I have had a reply from the lady in Oz. Unfort. The link was broken- to Ann Davies gravestone and so as yet she cannot verify whether she is related. I have replied inviting her to join our site and she would be able to find the link here. any more on this

RB strangely if you Google Ann Davies / Leasowe it comes up with an entry which shows the grave stone and inscription but nothing else...... http://www.systemsworld.net/personal/famhist/necropolis/DAVIES.htmStranger and stranger. To explain to others - we saw this gravestone today and thought the inscription was rather strange. It looks like we'll have to do some digging to see if we can find out anything. I wonder whether the following excerpt from 'Almost an Island-The story of Wallasy' by Noel E. Smith is relevent???? Lady Cust used to attend Bidston church making the journey (from Leasowe castle) to Bidston along Reeds Lane. She would ride in a yellow curricle with outriders in attendance. The servants would also go with her. At the chirch she acted as a sort of banker, with whom the village folk could deposit their savings. At the rear of the church there was a small folding desk behind which she would sit. Lady Cust was a woman of good Christian character and did wahat she could to help those who were un- fortunate enough th get ship- wrecked in wallasey. She was responsible for setting up the Dennets Rocket Equipment in a small hut close to the shore, where rockets could be fired to save the lives of people from a wrecked vessel. Hmmmm??
