Since there's a distinct possibility we might get thunder this evening, I thought I'd post this up smile

This is just a screen grab, so you'll need to click here to get the actual report. You'll need Java.

That's a good find snooze, I used to have kit to monitor lightning yet didn't know about this site - good one!

Just realised - that was in days before the internet!

There's a real danger that the left will drag Britain back to the 1970s, with secure well-paid jobs, ample housing, properly-funded NHS and social care, free tuition, student grants, final salary pensions, affordable rail fares and fabulous films and music. David Osland 2025

The only kit you need is a radio DD laugh. Just tune it out on MW or LW I think. If there's anything circulating it'll soon show up as big crackles. Fun being in a storm when the radio 'cracks' at the moment you get the flash! grin

Can you tell I like storms? smile

Its been travelling up the country - I saw it attack Leicestershire around 4.30 - 5.30pm, then it moved on up towards Sheffield and Leeds. Its probably including storms that have been happening over Belgium too.

If you press the Event Loop "run" button you can see what has happened, speeded up by a factor of 60.

Sorry, Joe. I was too comfy in bed to get up, besides I didn't want to get my birthday suit wet!
