Think this has just closed.

There's a real danger that the left will drag Britain back to the 1970s, with secure well-paid jobs, ample housing, properly-funded NHS and social care, free tuition, student grants, final salary pensions, affordable rail fares and fabulous films and music. David Osland 2025

It cetainly was last night, when I forgot they changed the road layout about 20 years ago and I was on autopilot.

This opened up again a while ago, rumour was the people from the Seacombe hotel took it over when they fell out with the brewery.

It is now up for sale again 11/12/2010

Doesn't look like it'll be reopening as a pub!... it's had some windows bricked up and others have red shutters on them

It's starting to look like a convinience store (eg a Spar) with those shutters.
Just checked on the Council site, and there are no planning applications in hand for any premises on Freeman Street. So, it's still anyones guess, unless someone asks the workmen.

What a shame...The Dock was always a very welcoming pub with a clientèle similar to the "Big" Coopers in Liverpool, i.e. middle aged people coming to watch live entertainment with no fighting ...soon everybody will have no option other than watching their big flat screen telly ....

Not seen any more work being done/anyone to ask... maybe the shutters are just to keep it secure whilst they sort out planning/refurb for whatever it may be...
