Ok, I bought some new HT leads, but on #4 on the existing leads, there is a some sort of ignition sensor.

I have 1 of 2 options:

1. Leave it off.
2. Try and fit it to my new HT leads.

So, if I leave it off, will it make any difference?

I've tried taking the HT leads apart to fit it, but in the process of me removing it from the old lead by taking the connectors off the end, the old lead ended up snapping so I just hacked it apart to see if the ends did come off, and they are solid and not designed to be taken apart.

So can anyone advise me on how the fook to take a HT lead apart as I can't see how the ends come off without me cutting the f'kin thing up.

If it is moulded as you say joe, then they are from the factory a nice little trick to make you spend more money.

You will have to cut them, there is no other way to remove the sensor. I don't know what that sensor does sorry.

Bring the pics over from your other topic it may help
with showing peeps the sensor.

Im guessing one end of this sensor is hooked round the HT lead between dizzy and plug.... where does the other end go?

Also, it strange that it is on #4 as timing is set on #1 think

Bring some pics over matey...

Dont suppose you have tried it without yet?

no idea what the sensor is for, but the part is a "pulse sensor"

I can cut the old HT lead, thats no problem, but its getting it on the new lead.

yeah, its on #4

havnt tried it without, but will be fitting the ignition system 2moro, so just wondered if it would affect it.

Hmm, I've got a feeling its the tacho sensor. replace lead 4, fire up, and see if your tacho is working? If it does work, then I have no idea.

I know!

I'll bring my new lead and sensor to the meet, and see if anyone can work it out (dont snap my new fookin lead though! lol)

If the new lead cant be taken apart, then I'll use the old one with the sensor until its running then fit the new leads and hope evrything still works without the sensor.
