I went to St John's school behind the church, the front face of which is just left of the bay windows of the first shop.This was about 1940-45. It was a big Victorian place with sliding partitions between the classes and ruled by Miss Noonan, very strict. Miss Dowling was a nice teacher. The toilets were open-air, across the cinder playground, grim in the winter! The children from St Edmund's Orphanage went there too, filing down Bebington Road from Heath Road. Did they do the journey 4 times a day as I don't remember any school dinners there! Bri

Does anyone remember the church in Bebington Rd? it was were Connections(the carears place) is now, what i remember is that it used to frighten me! there used to be tree's hanging over it,and when i think back it was eiree!! does anyone know the name of it?
