Thanks for the comments so far!

Sanded down the rear subframe, using a mouse sander, the bit which couldnt be reached had to be done by hand!

Painted the subframe in a coating of red oxide paint

Also given the floor its top coating of vermillion red! :proud: That grey stone chip takes alot of covering! Will use white stone chip next time I think, oh well, at least i know that its well protected underneath thumbsup

Rear Valance has also been painted in cellulose vermillion, can polish and buff it up nicely!

The radius arms have been cleaned up and restored ready for painting as with the brake backplates.

Here are the pictures of the progress so far :proud:

Fully wax-oiled the floor using '3M' attatched to the compressor. Also fully waxed the subframe and components, Its not as shiney now >_< , but it will protect it so I guess thats what matters! thumbsup

Here's the pics: (Note: Gold painted subframe pin, I had to do something different! ;D)

As you can see, the subframe touches the floor of the Mini, I guess this was due to the accident, when everything was thrown out of line:

sod the heavy rear subframe, ditch it and throw a beam axle in its place! least we know the rust should stay away for many years.

Progress!

Work continues on the rear subframe, infact its almost finished. Except for fittin of the brake shoes to the rear drums, will need to buy some new ones and I also might possibly get away with keeping the drums as they are. Need some slave cylinders, but these will be fitted when the rest of the work had been completed on the car, I guess the brakes will be one of the last jobs to complete.

Attention has now turned to the passenger floor pan where it meets the bulkhead, tricky repair but one that must be done! thumbsup

Managed to get some spares from Himley hall Mini meet, such as roof guttering, bits of trim, genuine door rubbers, arch rubber strip (the rubber which goes between the arches and the bodywork) Saw some at the show finishes the arches of quite nicely!
