Just a thought, but is that round one with the metal pin bent over, an old boot button? The kind that Great, great, granny used, to button up her boots. The pin would be driven through the leather and hammered over to secure it.
It just doesn't look like a fishing weight to me. Interesting though.

I think you're talking about hobnails. They were hammered into boot soles to increase grip, the ones I remember seeing weren't quite that shape. As the dome on yours is so well made, I originally thought of those buttons on the sleeve of a jacket that were there to stop soldiers wiping their noses on the back of their sleeves, but I doubt the fastening is right. My bet is a boot button.
