Got out for a few hours yesterday. Got sun burnt too haha. Managed a few finds and a bit of silver!

The silver is off a walking cane. Lovely pattern on it. Also had a Victoria “viel head” penny that is quite worn and another coin which is too far gone to identify. Also a religious pendant, some buttons, musket ball and a couple of unidentifiable things lol but I think one may be a weight

Cheers fish I was thinking some sort of fishing weight as found next to a fishing pond. I’m not too sure about the other, yes it has a hole in the centre with a piece of metal coming from the centre of it and it’s bent over

Should be able to get some lettering from the oval medal with a rubbing. My bets are St Anthony.

Excellent batch!

Just a thought, but is that round one with the metal pin bent over, an old boot button? The kind that Great, great, granny used, to button up her boots.
The pin would be driven through the leather and hammered over to secure it.

It just doesn't look like a fishing weight to me. Interesting though.

I think you're talking about hobnails. They were hammered into boot soles to increase grip, the ones I remember seeing weren't quite that shape. As the dome on yours is so well made, I originally thought of those buttons on the sleeve of a jacket that were there to stop soldiers wiping their noses on the back of their sleeves, but I doubt the fastening is right. My bet is a boot button.
