the mini is damaged, what can i say. its bad, not too bad but it isn't even on the road yet!

it happened yesterday when the wind picked up some of the corner pieces on the roof of our neighbors, and thrown it on my car! only 2 hit one that hit the roof dented it, and punctured it. it the bounced on the window, also scratching it, and finally dented the rear quarter. the one hit the front of my wing, cracking the fiberglass and breaking off the headlamp. now because it came from the neighbor roof, i will be claiming on their house insurance, so hopefully i won't need to fork out a penny! still it is a blow when you come home to see your mini wrecked! the pics are abit blurry, so i'll get some better ones on the weekend.

and this is how their roof looks!

unfortunately house insurance doesn't work like car insurance, so if we wanted to claim it would be on our own insurance, which we may do to help lighten the load on paying to fix it. now i could march round there with a bill saying pay up, but i know they would say no, and i'd take them to court and blah blah blah. it would just escilate (spelling) and we would probabily end up paying anyway! so i'm getting the bodyshop to pop round and give me a quote on how much to fix it next weekend, and i may get a professional dent person round to smooth things out! here is some better shots of the damage.

right so with that out my mind for now, i have done abit more work on the bugger! clutch master is now fitted and plumbed up, with a new goodridge stainless steel braided hose. the feel of the clutch is nice and strong! and adjustable engine steady has also been fitted, so i can adjust the engine position if i need to!

sod that I would be round there with a bat b4 i was to pay myself. At the end of the day it could have been worse and could have hit some1. I definatley would consider getting them to pay without any doubt.Okay they are your neighbours so surley that would be more of a reason for them to pay up with out arguement.

no chance of him helping out! they are and old couple, and right tw*ts. all they can do is moan and what not. they are claiming benefits and there is nothing wrong with them! i might go round to them will a bill and ask for a donation, but it looks like i'm forking out myself.

got a quote to fix the damage today, £400. this isn't including parts needed though, which are rear quarter glass, front headlamp and bowl. so the total should be under £500. my plan now is to get it running, and the drive it down to the bodyshop, get it fixed, drive it back, and then finish it off.

Really gutted mate, such a shame.... frown

Fustrating as it is not to claim, i can hear what you mean about dragging them through the courts etc, and its prolly more stress / hassle (not to mention time) that its really worth, plus your getting on with it again, and will have it sorted long before a long winded battle with insurances etc.

Just be thankful we dont get Tsunami's and Massive earth quakes - at least this is repairable...
