The top and bottom of it Granny, is encirclement. There was a plan to rid us of the evil governments. the plan was an invasion of Iran. we deposed Mubarek of Egypt, Gadaffi of Libya and moved on to Syria. We invented and supported ISIS to do this on our behalf. They went bandit, likewise Iran. Iran cut a deal and now we are left with a mess. Does that make it clear, it doesn't to me

Pablo, hi missed you.

Yep, following what you write to a point and then everything starts spinning and blanks out.

It's hard to realise what is actually happening from all of this Syrian war and others.

Sitting here listening to the Lottery Results and the weather forecast for tomorrow, wondering if it's gardening weather, and at the very same time people elsewhere are being beheaded, raped, tortured and running for their lives. Now it looks as if Turkey is getting caught up too. The refugees and asylum seekers in their tens of thousands descending on Europe and expecting their problems to be resolved. They are likely to need medical and/or hospital treatment.

Reckon worse problems are about to transpire in Syria . It would seem the Syrian government are just randomly bombing and the inhabitants of one city had not been allowed to leave. They were stopped by the Syrian army !! Now the UN have managed to get in, they find that typhoid is on the rampage.

These animals from ISIS have a huge hold on the country now and are not going to stop. That is very scary, no wonder people are fleeing , but they could be fleeing in the wrong direction.

News coming out of North Africa and Middle Eastern countries is a bit thin at the moment, which usually indicates that there is a plan of action in the pipeline. Let's hope it's not another stupid one.

Does anyone feel guilt about all this, when sitting watching tele or having dinner ? I feel as if I shouldn't be enjoying anything....which is probably ridiculous, but it seems so wrong.

We reap what we sow, but it's always the innocent ones and little children who suffer most.

About 10 years ago, a guy I met on a caravan site in North Wales, told me that he had recently back packed across Syria. He had nothing but praise for its people and he had befriended so many that he intended to return. I don't think he would venture there today. I know I certainly wouldn't. Let's just hope that its troubles are resolved soon. The current migration to Northern Europe by people from Syria and other war torn areas are a threat to all that we have taken for granted these past decades.

No guilt trip here! How can you expect people cooking their meal on a cow-pat to have modern Western values. They live a medieval life with similar values we had in those not too distant times.
In hindsight we should of left things alone, we didn't so I think it should be sorted the only way we Westerners know how, before the point of no return. When two Worlds collide somebody is going to get hurt and we had better take the blinkers off or it will be us.When it starts the poor refugees will be demonstrating and forming a fifth column in europe so let's not be naive to the point of stupidity.Let them all in on a temp basis sort it out and ship them back.Isis and napalm made for each other.

Totally agree, every country should be allowed to develop at its own pace, but the more "advanced" countries (if you can call them that) see ways of making great profits out of lesser developed countries and drag them into a different era.

Globalisation is generated by greed.

There's a real danger that the left will drag Britain back to the 1970s, with secure well-paid jobs, ample housing, properly-funded NHS and social care, free tuition, student grants, final salary pensions, affordable rail fares and fabulous films and music. David Osland 2025

Globalisation is the ruination of all of us.

After the borders being removed in Europe, it would seem that the Germans are now looking to reinstate the borders throughout Europe. (still don't know why all decisions seem to be made in their camp)

Yemen are starving 20million, no supplies and no safe drinking water.

UN have launched an appeal for £1b. They haven't achieved it. They are now dipping into funds for £100m resulting in being unable to step up aid in other areas.

If there was any major happening in this country, we don't even have the skills to build an air raid shelter, grow enough food for 60 million, have enough cows to supply milk for 60 million, etc. Basically we and many other countries are no longer self sufficient.
Depending on who the enemy might be, we could be without medicines, electricity, oil, coal. What do we produce in this country on any sizeable scale any longer ? Even the apple trees were got rid of when they hoped we would buy French apples.

" In 2000, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) identified four basic aspects of globalization: trade and transactions, capital and investment movements, migration and movement of people, and the dissemination of knowledge."

Surprise, we've had problems with the listed aspects already, so could be another 21st century plan gone down the pan.

We'd all be advised to watch 'Bake-Off', learn how to make badger pie, stock up on the anadin , and get a massive big freezer.
