Oh how good was that, totally got immersed in it. Love these old films seeing the style of clothes and pace of life. Loved seeing the Levers factory. I also watched the film about employees leaving Smethyck works, all the very young boys looked about ten but lighting up their cigs. As I say love all this stuff keep it coming....

Great stuff. The opening scenes of boarding the ferry were interesting; pretty well all the men had moustaches, the only one who didn't looked remarkably like Stan Laurel. Interesting to see the newly built but as yet unoccupied Liver Building and to see the empty plot where the Cunard Building would go. As far as the write-up is concerned, they made a bit of a muck-up: quote "Mersey Rock to Ferry Quay and on to Port Sunlight by tram."/quote. It's clear that they went in horse drawn charabancs and I don't think Port Sunlight ever had a tram system. Great bit of film though.

Amazing film, I was surprised how fast the film speed was for that era.

There's a real danger that the left will drag Britain back to the 1970s, with secure well-paid jobs, ample housing, properly-funded NHS and social care, free tuition, student grants, final salary pensions, affordable rail fares and fabulous films and music. David Osland 2025

Wonderful footage.

Anyone know which school those boys would have been attending ?

I started at Levers in 1961 - some of those
production processes were still in use then!

Great find.

A wonderful piece of film, but the dating's a bit awry. HMS Audacious wasn't launched till 14th September 1912, and after fitting-out left the Mersey for Plymouth on 22nd July 1913, so the actual date's probably closer to the latter.
