Hi I've got an 11 month of collie/ springer cross female. Basically I've been told by my landlord I have to get rid of her within 2 weeks. I had my first inspection as I've only lived in my house for a couple of months and my landlord is not happy. She has chewed the door frames and dug up the back garden. I can't afford to move as I have kids. I've tried to phone rescues and they said there is a waiting list and they won't take her anyway because of her chewing. She goes out once a day and has chew toys but still won't stop it. I've been told it's down to anxiety but I haven't been able to stop it. Anyway I've got 2 weeks to find her a new home or I have to move out. She is used cats as I have 2. I think she needs someone to give her more attention. To be honest I don't think anyone will even want to take her on as the chewing situation is quite bad. I got her from a puppy off a farm and she basically roamed with them so maybe she would do well in a household with another dog. If anyone is interested in her or knows of anyone who would he interested please let me know.

If local cant help , you could try Freshfields animal rescue Wales branch ? They have a good success rate with rehoming collies . Your dog may be happier and less chewy in a more rural setting perhaps. They might not be able to take her straight away - if you could find her someone to foster her till they could?Youd probably have to get her there though.

There are lots of rescues out there that might be willing to take your dog. Try some of these:

We have taken in dogs from Capricorn and Furever homes. Again you may have to get her there. A cross between 2 working breeds would need a lot of mental and physical stimulation - I'm sure someone out there would be able to help.

Having had springers i know they require a huge amount of exercise, once a day is nowhere near sufficient, I realise this is a cross but i think if you gave it a proper amount of exercise your chewing problems would subside, I hope you find someone who will give this dog the proper runs for miles it needs, and maybe if you ever get another dog do a little research first,

Thanks for the links to places I will have a look.

Well unfortunately once a day is a I can manage with young kids. I've had this type of dog before and it was fine. I don't need criticism Madge
