I'm no expert but you should bin Google Chrome and install Firefox. There are lots of plug-in that won't work with Goggle Chrome soon and changing to Firefox is one answer. I am sure someone 'tech savvy' will be able to help otherwise.

Hopefully all content providers will switch to HTML5 in time.
Strange decision for google to lock out silverlight from chrome when their search engine tries to use silverlight unnecessarily.

Only got a development name still - Project Spartan.
It is strange that silverlight hasn't had a new release for over 3 years especially comparing that against other media interfaces.
The browser authors are having to work for their living the last few years and its a shame that HTML5 specifications hasn't forced better compatibility. I was shocked when Opera went over to google Chrome, I assume their development costs were getting too much with all the changes going on.

Thank you our resident techies . I suppose then Ill have to move to Firefox. Plenty of people seem to like it. As I wouldnt know a good safe link from a bad one even if it could reach out and bite me, please can anyone send me a safe Firefox one for me to download , Id appreciate it. Do I have to uninstall Chrome afterwards or anything? Thanks in anticipation.

From the author's site (Mozilla), no doubt the install asks if you want to install various toolbars, virus checkers, bum scratchers or whatever to which generally the answer is "no". https://www.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/new

Generally importing won't do any harm anyway - its only website based information that goes across like bookmarked (favourite) sites etc.

Bu*****r I had to stop and run to help OH who'd dropped a pan in the kitchen. Five minutes later, pressed to import Chrome, it changed the page and said it was importing cookies, history etc, .....but its says its still doing it a further 5 minutes later "Grrrh" Doesnt seem right . Shall I just start again or will that really mess things up?

Oh bummer! I can get BT sport videos now Ive changed to Firefox, but going on to Facebook, I can no longer open video clips people post , I just get three moving 'loading' bars in the middle that dont ever get further than that. I can open though by using my old Chrome shortcut to open them. Any suggestions how to enable my FB clips on Firefox please ?

I don't use facebook so no idea what the video format is, but you probably need to download or update either Adobe Flash or Shockwave Flash (which is also Adobe). https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ https://get.adobe.com/shockwave/ Watch out for the tick boxes trying to install McAfee security.
