I'd have liked to have had a go at rugby, but they picked all the big guys for that and sent the rest of us on a cross country run from Ingleborough playing fields up Thornton road and through Storeton Woods and back. Thankfully we got a history teacher who let us play football instead.Never liked cricket and can't remember doing much in athletics

I used to enjoy the cross-country run, 5 woodbines and a couple of matches in my shorts pocket, stop off at the Roman Road for a sly fag. (only got caught once, 6 of the best off Danny Webb) which History teacher let you play football?, I never saw a round ball all the time I was there, I think I'm going too far off the Topic so I'd better shut up.
