The new apprentise in work has just bought a a 53 plate focus 1.6 zetec s, anyhows he was winding me up all day about he would leave me for dead...
So we took to a private road, and put the focus to the test..
Its fair to say i beat him by a a lot, over 1/4 mile..
So does anyone know the stats on these as i`m intreged...

think the new ones r still 90 ps models (90bhp) could be wrong..

If there the same as the Escort Zetec's they have various BHP, The escort can be 105 PS or 115 PS or 125 PS, depends on the model ect....

Sounds like an ar**  Why didn't he get a 1.8 coz there's hardly any difference for insurance and they're a helluvalot faster  If I remember right it's 105 but coulda been 115, deffinatly isn't 125.

Its 98Bhp matey, used to drive one in work and i always thought the 1.6 was a little quicker at the mark than the 1.8!

according to parkers, the focus is 98 BHP (the ink is 100 BHP) with an average 0-60 of about 10.5 - 11 secs.

The Escort 1.6 is 90ps which is 88BHP and i know Adams Fiesta is 90ps (88BHP). Oh and 1.8 Escorts they do a 105ps and 115, If its a 115 then tell him to use 130 cams

I have one with a fiesta zetec s with air filter, power boost valve and full magnex, but its not as quick as a standard saxo VTR
