Why don't we have a singles night at a pub for all the Wiki people who would like to meet someone to make friends with? For those who feel they wouldn't like to get too involved, they could go incognito without saying their Wiki usernames when meeting up, so no embarrassment if they didn't 'take' to each other. This might be the answer for Gary and others in the same boat who don't know how to get started.
