We all know this illness is of a very serious nature with so many different types. Without wanting to cause alarm, I think this site is very informative, and worth studying. If this illness is suspected, I suggest you go to hospital, not your doctor. Speed is of the greatest importance. If you scroll down the left side you can apply for a free info pack. http://www.meningitis.org/disease-info/types-causes/meningoccal-disease Take it from someone who lost a child to it, good advice Granny. Don't sit and wait, demand attention if you suspect it. You can always apologise later if you are wrong. Slowly but surely vaccines are being discovered thanks partly to large amounts of money raised on Merseyside which is a hot spot for the disease.
