Phone contract upgrade due up in 6 weeks or so and I get an upgrade, but what phone do I get???
i currently have an iphone 4 and while it's a stable and alright phone but i want something a bit 'better'
i'm gonna stick with my current provider (EE) so all handsets will be on 4G and don't worry about monthly/upfront cost etc, i'll worry about that. I'd ideally like some open and honest reviews from anyone who has any of the following phones:
HTC One M8 Samsung Galaxy S5 iPhone 5s (gold... obv) Sony Xperia Z2
so if so, what's the good and bad points? anything that you'd like to see made a bit better or that let the phone down a bit?
if you recommend any other phone then please specify
Help me out here guys & girls!!!
ps. i'm not interested in purchasing a handset outright or second-hand so don't try and sell me your "just upgraded, not wanting it so will sell on the handset and it's still in the box" phone, i'm not interested... you know who you are.

When i'm undecided i look at the sell value. Phones now do pretty much more than we could ever want. I use the Galaxy Note 2 and its like a min pc at my finger tips. No Battery issues runs all day with Bluetooth and Wifi Enabled. The Note 3 is out now but i'm not seeing anything that's going to make me go WOW and to change at the moment. Its a Big phone, but for me ease of use is great. The S5 it has a heart beat monitor and can connect to the next gen watches "Galaxy Gear" at a price. Think fixable and resellable with your choice. I'm not an Iphone fan so I couldn't say to you anything about the 5s Good luck Its about this time of year new models are released see what the anticipation is out there for new models and see if you can get that on your contract It may also be an idea to just keep waiting and then change when something you want is available. What ever you go for i think you will have to ensure its (4G) which (EE) is but for others reading

hasn't most of these not long been out though? i know the Galaxy S5 hasn't even got any proper full reviews on youtube from anyone decent.
i've discounted the HTC on the basis that the camera is a bit below-average (4mpx camera's are things of 2004) and it's just lacking in some of the features the others have.
i've discounted the iphone 5s because frankly i might as well keep my iphone 4. the 5s is a bit faster and a bit taller, not much really else between them other than a fingerprint sensor. apple are just overpriced and as i was saying to a mate yesterday, the iOS hasn't really evolved and as my iphone 4 is rocking iOS 7.1 then there'll be pretty much zero difference for the price of the contract & handset.
i discounted windows phones (nokia's) pretty early on having read and heard bad things and very little good things.
it's now between the Xperia Z2 and Galaxy S5, i'm edging towards the Galaxy S5 but the Xperia Z2 i need to research more, even though it's not out just yet...

negitive....just too big...for me agree on all counts. iphone's are ridiculously priced and the others are a bit big... however i'm willing to sacrifice size for quality, the iphone6 i have heard is going to be a similar size, so it's they way they're ALL going might as well jump before i'm pushed.

I would seriously look at 3 for your next one, there 4g is now free and have unlimited data to boot. Whats the use in having 4g if you only get 3 or 4 gb of data? Check the 3 website for coverage and if it is ok go for 3. I left o2 for them last year and havent looked back

On 3 anything you download through wifi also comes out of your usage limit. I stuck with tmob/EE because they were able to knock money off due to me upgrading and also I got an ipad added on for a tenner extra a month with no upfront cost. Sorted!

I've always been an Apple fan even before the mass of mobile phones, so my opinion is slightly bias. Anyway Iphone all the way and on 3 network (unlimited data). Ease of use, Style, Apps etc
