Palace Motors was on New Chester Road, near the junction with Bedford Road. In the 60s it ran big advertising campaigns on TV, making it known well outside Birkenhead.

I remember the Palace cinema well which later became Palace Motors.It seemed to be a thriving business for a time and all too good to be true,and it was.If I remember correctly the owner went down for fraud.The scam went something like this. They were buying old & scrap mopeds and using the reg numbers to obtain money from finance firms but calling them Jaguars and Rolls Royce and the like and eventually the bubble burst. This of course was before computers and it could not happen now.
