Does anyone know where I can sell an oil painting? It's on behalf of my mother who is having a clear out and wants to get rid. The painter is Paul COUCHERON AAMOT and I've tried to Google him and he seems to be a little known Norwegian painter. Anyone know who to take it to who will give a decent price. Can't be bothered to sell it on Ebay as it's quite big and I'm not sure how to wrap it up to post. Thanks.

Thanks for the advice, I'm just not sure what would be a reasonable price to ask for it. I was hoping there were some kind of art dealers on the Wirral I could take it to.

Uffda, take it into the Williamson Art Gallery, Birkenhead. They maybe able to help you and the Curator could possibly give you more information about the artist. May have to make an appointment to see him, or leave the painting with them for a little while.

Thanks for your advice guys. Lansyp luckily I can read Norwegian but hadn't seen this website. It's a Norwegian auction house in Oslo and the painting shown there is nicer than my mums but it sold for £8000! Granny, I had seen that American website and thought that if I could find the right venue, I might be able to get a couple of hundred for it. I'm just stumped at how to get the right person interested. I think you are right, I need to do a bit more research and maybe think about taking it over to Norway to get the best price.
