Don't know if something similar has been posted before.

Someone I know is thinking of taking his partner camping.
This would be their 1st time and he wants to try one night of camping somewhere local to see if they'd like it.
Where on Wirral could they pitch a tent for one night only.
Free or cheap as possible.

If they have transport, I couldn't recommend Wales any more. There are so many campsites, well within an hour of the Wirral, we have just come back from just 1 night today.

Campsiteuk gives you pretty much all the info you could need just get searching.

Also if a campfire is a bonus then Google sites with fires allowed. We found one a few years ago at the base of Cadair Idris, a bit further into Wales but well worth it.

If no camping has been done before, a Sunday night work permitting would be a good start, as most people have gone and it's nice and quiet.

If they need any more info just tell them to give me a shout we go quite a lot. Mostly just for one night but have also been for longer.

Sorry I don't know of anywhere on the Wirral but less than an hour away is good enough to get home from if it doesn't work out.

No one seems to bother campers on the fields on the prom at Wallasey/New Brighton. Nearest to the railway lines may be best.

I wouldn't recommend just pitching up on a field with a new camper, you just don't know who is around. Having the safety and security of a proper site would give peace of mind.

All it takes is one muppet to mess with your tent and your friend could be put off for life.

I've done wild camping many times before, but one time I took someone new and it was an awful experience he hated and never wanted to do it again.

Cheshire Oaks site is called Stanney Oaks and is a great first place to start. Great facilities and is part of the Caravan Club. Like PP already said there is a pub just up the road and various restaurants on the Cheshire Oaks site itself. We had one night there a while back and it was lovely.Alternatively, Greenacres farm in Desside is also a nice site and close to home. You want to make sure you go somewhere that has proper facilities and at least a toilet of some description. If I was being taken away for a nights camping and there was no toilet, I would not be best pleased smirk
