yes the building that is now called the brass balance used to be Al Fresco resaurent.

i remember seeing muffin the mule in the 50s when my granddad worked there,and competitions when you could win prizes,like bikes.

Back of the ABC Cinema (Birkenhead) under demolition today. I've watched films in there and played snooker, such a shame.

Are they keeping the front intact? Bit of art deco etc. Thinking about memories of the place, our school and others went to see special showings associated with our English Lit lessons. eg Richard III, Macbeth, The Lion in Winter I think.

Its complete demolition, construction of a mixed use three storey building (two retail units and offices) with a large-ish car park to rear.

There is also a mention of an arson attack in 2017 whose details I can't recall.
