answer is B. I was there with my sister Brenda and I and I got one in a paper cup.

When Lowcost Supermarket opened in Victoria Road New Brighton in the late 60's they gave the first hundred customers a frozen chicken. Crowds turned up!

sunnyside; your posts are really difficult to read because of the lack of punctuation. An occasional capital letter would be good too.

Anyone old enough to remember the bonfires we used to have at the top of Grosvenor rd before the houses were built on it? I'm talking 1950; Junction of Magazine Lane I think( it led to the footie ground and the Tower car park.

I was thinking that too! Must have been a mix-up of road names!

As we slowly glide towards the New Year I remember the mournful sound of the ships hooters blowing across the river. Many ships and many hooters which always brought a lump to my throat and a tear to the eye. Now there is likely to be little more than a couple Mersey Ferry boats, doing their best but sounding more like a dying f..t!
Happy New Year I love you Mersey Ferries

After a long discussion at work, talking about all the old places around King Street, Egremont, , we are left with one that it seems only I can recall. We all sighed over Millers and the provvie cheques, the piping hot soup at GG baths, Mrs Allens newsagents, The kardoohma joke shop, Cheshire Distributers, but no-one but me seesm to recall a nightclub opposite the Gaumont at the top of King Street. It had black curved windows and was once a shop. It wasnt a club for long.
Just to hear someone else remembered it would help!
