Can't see if this has been posted before, but this is supposed to be an old photo of Seacombe Ferry in 1876. Nothing in it looks familiar to me. Could it be Eastham Ferry?
I agree, it's certainly Seacombe. Between 1876 and 1880 the area in the foreground was infilled, and Victoria Place and a new Ferry Terminal were built on the reclaimed land. That's why this photo bears little resemblance to what's there today.

Nooo. I do remember in the late 80s/ early 90s that the 'bus numbers' were gold painted onto the cobbles, in their designated parking spaces. There is only two bus stops now. One by the ferry for Wallasey bound buses and the other is for Birkenhead bound buses.

The old ferry buildings and clock tower were replaced in 1932. So I'm guessing from the look of the vehicles in this picture it must be early 1920's (if not before).
