IT seems like Joe Boyer disagrees with you (TheDr) However I don't and I read The Daily Mail and have done since Maxwell ran off with the Kitty.

I'm all for rehabilitating them ready to go back into the community but people with serious crimes on long term sentences should spend the majority of it in punishment with minimal facilities. Surely that is a far greater deterrent to re-offend, or even offend in the first place.

What we have now does't work, If anybody disagrees, I would love to hear your argument. What is the alternative is debatable, but best done without a knee jerk response to a topical horrendous crime that we should all find abhorrent. They should earn enough to pay for the cost of keeping them in full, before they have the little treats that keep them sane and well behaved. (Just like I do) Hospital laundry, Prosthetic limbs for the third world or make the pumps for Water Aid could be a start.

I often wonder how effective rehabilitation is in some cases. I know people who have been in jail for many years (12yrs), (15yrs)and they are family (fraud) and one (sisters scabby ex boyfriend) who is never out of jail, 'prefers to be inside in fact cos its like being in the army and you can't fook about' and when they get out they just defer to the lifestyle they had before because thats all they know

Prisoners can nod heads and tick all the boxes for the folk who are there to rehabilitate them but gestures mean nothing at the end of the day - most of them will re-offend ....gah ....I know what I'm trying to say but several dihydrocodeine says noooooo!

*have bad wisdom tooth pain - pity me at least*

Unless the perpetrator feels remorse, the rehabilition means nothing frown
