has anybody got any ideas what on earth the humming noise is in Bromborough - its pretty loud. Its sounds like a Plane circling / Hot air balloon being inflated??

where about? It was pretty clear arond Bromborough Rake, Allport Road and Allport Lane. Still hear something now. Possible from the River I guess?

I heard it the other night about 2am in the morning, it's coming from by brombrough rake train station so I assume it's something to do with the tracks, if it's the noise I heard it sounded like when someone using a whizzer or grinder a load humming type.
