My mum and my aunty used to work at the Dibbinsdale ion the kitchen years ago - I assume it was about 1975 ish?? Does anyone remember anything about it? I ill aks my mum if she can remember any good tales...
The Dibbinsdale had a really good restaurant in those days. I worked at Port Sunlight and we regularly entertained visitors there. They had a particularly good buffet at lunchtime.
We even used their accommodation for visitors. In fact, I particularly remember one visitor staying there for a couple of nights. She checked in on 9 December 1974. I arranged to meet her that evening (we hadn't met before) and took her out for dinner.
We were married on 4 October the following year and we're still happily together.
My mum worked behind the bar and I was a waitress in the early seventies at 'The Dib'. I certainly remember the buffet (sorry, Smörgåsbord!!) as keeping it 'topped up' gave me blisters! My mum was Dorothy and my name's Lynn. Does anyone remember us?
