WWE held the 2011 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony tonight from the Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Thanks to Wrestling News World reader Matt Martin for sending us text-message updates:

* Jerry Lawler is the host for the night.

* "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase comes out first to induct "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan. Hacksaw talks about going from football to WWE and the origin of the 2x4.

* Scott, Brad and Brian Armstrong come out to induct their father. "Bullet" Bob Armstrong starts with lines from famous quotes, talks about meeting
Gorgeous George, his wife and living his dream.

* Wrestling News World reader Brian W helped us out by clarifying that LayCool and the WWE Divas inducted Sunny. She talked about origins in Smokey Mountain Wrestling, being the most downloaded celebrity, and teased a return.

* Terry Funk comes out to induct Abdullah the Butcher. Funk imitated Dusty Rhodes, talked about getting forked by Abby. Abby came out with a fork but didn't pull the stunt reported here on WrestlingNewsWorld.com. Instead, he talked about getting the call and got emotional when he said he wished his family could be here.

* Dusty Rhodes comes out to induct The Road Warriors and Paul Ellering. Road Warrior Animal and Ellering come out to accept. Animal talks about ribs played on him and Hawk earlier in their careers as well as not knowing terms like "over." He told some old funny stories of an early career and Paul got in a few words. Animal gave an emotional talk about the late Road Warrior Hawk.

* Kane inducts Drew Carey and calls him "evil" and says "I like that." Drew comes out, gets booed, he says "go ahead and boo. I'm skinny, good-looking and rich."

* We can confirm that Ric Flair is in the audience.

* Triple H comes out. He's hilarious. All the typical Shawn Michaels jokes. Hair plugs, chaps, "googly-eyes". He gets teary and then out comes Shawn Michaels. Within two minutes he's crying. He clears up and runs over the story "everybody already knows", tells some stories of him and Hunter, his mom and dad, and his wife and kids. He jokes by saying "Quit with the one more match stuff. I'm nervous enough as it is." He finished up with a heartfelt speech, hugged Triple H, they both pointed to the entrance and out came X-Pac and Diesel. DX's music played, they posed, Shawn's music played, and it was a good night.

Note from Richard: Here's another description of HBK's induction from one of my sources: Triple H came out to induct Shawn Michaels and talked about the first time he met Shawn that Shawn was sporting a mullet and a fanny pack. Hunter said Stephanie called Shawn his road wife. Triple H said Michaels will not admit to being in the Hulk Hogan hair club. Sean Waltman and Kevin Nash joined Michaels and Hunter on stage and embraced HBK.

U.S. Championship
Dark Lumberjack Match
Sheamus (c) vs. Danyel Bryan

I don't have a full list but the lumberjacks include William Regal, Chavo Guerrero, Primo, R-Truth and Chris Masters. Daniel Bryan, the challenger, comes out first followed by the WWE United States Champion Sheamus.

Bryan starts out in control, throwing Sheamus over to the lumberjacks but Sheamus is able to get back to the ring. Teddy Long comes out. He said because of outside lumberjack involvement to the match, the bout will now be an over-the-top battle royal. All performers are in the ring working.

Here are the competitors in addition to Daniel Bryan and WWE United States Champion Sheamus:

The Great Khali won the match, eliminating Sheamus last. The U.S. Title belt was not on the line in the battle royal, so Sheamus is still the U.S. Champion.

they always do bout 20mins at a ppv. The jerry v cole was good. Enjoy it lol

It was the worst Wrestlemania ever ever ever ever ever.

The only decent things about it where

A few Stone Cold Stunners
Triple H Vs Undertaker
And The Rock and Mae Young

Terrible Mania. every match (EVERY MATCH) was poorly built up. Only Taker/HHH actually made up for the lack of build up with experience and talent.

Everything else? HORRIBLE. Either too quick, not long enough, poorly paced, or god forbid, scrapped because, people would much rather see a 5 minute 8 man tag match or Snooki over Daniel Bryan/Sheamus.

There is no defending this, the main event was tossed aside for a Rock/Cena feud, Miz continues to end up as a joke of a champion, and WM27 has turned out to be a huge mess.

I agree with absolutely every single letter of this. I was looking forward to Daniel Bryan Vs Sheamus. And it was ruined by Snooki?!?!?!
