Hi, I'm new to the site, so bear with me if I'm getting anything wrong.
I'm researching some distant relatives called Dowdeswell. An Edward Arkell Dowdeswell ran the Richmond Hotel at 52 Oxton Road in the 1880s. His first wife, Catherine, died in 1870 at the age of 30. I think he then remarried Elizabeth (Nee Harrison, previously married / widowed and then named Tarrant). Edward died in 1881 at the age of 38 at the Richmond Hotel. Then Elizabeth died in 1886 at the age of 46. They all seem to have died quite young. Not sure how they died. Does anyone have any more information about the Richmond Hotel or the Dowdeswells in Birkenhead? Thanks
